Up & Comer: Alex Walsh
Alex Walsh of Nashville Aquatic Club has been making a splash in the swimming world recently. The fourteen-year-old recently took home three gold medals this summer’s at the Junior Nationals in San Antonio, winning the 100 and 200 meter backstroke (1:00.84, 2:10.55) and leading off the 400 medley relay for her club.
Walsh will make her debut at the Olympic Trials next summer next summer in both the 100 and 200 backstroke, as well as the 100 breaststroke and 200 IM. Along with her Olympic Trials cuts, Walsh and teammates Ella Nelson, Kallie Chelsvig and Lauren Hurt currently hold the national age group record in the 13-14 girls 400 meter medley relay (4:18.41).
