UNLV Rebels Sign Oregon 5A State Gold Medalist Charley Page-Jones
NEW COMMIT: The University of Nevada, Las Vegas has received a new addition to its roster for the 2022-23 season and beyond from U.S. Open qualifier Charley Page-Jones of Eugene, Oregon.
He told Swimming World:
“It was a long journey, and I was excited to finally be able announce my commitment to swim at the University of Nevada Las Vegas! I’m excited to get to be a part of such and amazing community with such a positive atmosphere and coaching philosophy.”
Page-Jones does his club swimming with Team Eugene Aquatics and raced three events at the Speedo Summer West Championships after placing 15th in the 100m fly at Santa Clarita Futures this past summer. Last winter, he collected four gold medals at Oregon Seniors before going on to take sixth in the 100 fly at Four Corners Sectionals.
He recently attended the USA Swimming Boys National Select Camp in Chula Vista, California.
His best times include:
- 100 fly – 48.92
- 50 free – 20.76
- 100 free – 45.85
- 200 free – 1:40.73
Also competing for Churchill Alternative High School, Page-Jones is a multi-time Oregon 5A State Championship finalist. He won the 50 free and 100 fly during both his freshman and sophomore seasons.
UNLV claimed the 2021 WAC title with an all-time conference record of 907 points last season under head coach Ben Loorz.
