UCLA Swims Past Washington State in Pac-12 Dual Meet

The UCLA women’s swimming and diving team defeated Washington State 153-109 on Friday in Pac-12 action.

UCLA got a win from Ashley Kolessar in the 1000 freestyle, finishing in 10:09.17. Ana Jih-Schiff won the 100 breaststroke in 1:02.91 and the 200 breaststroke in 2:15.71. Aislinn Walsh won the 200 butterfly in 2:02.30 and the 100 butterfly in 54.74. Rosie Murphy won the 200 backstroke in 1:59.66 and 400 IM in 4:24.46.

Washington State freshman Madison Parker led all swimmers with 27 points after posting wins in the 200 free, 50 free and 100 free. Fellow freshman Mira Szimcsak claimed the 500 free and finished second in the 1000 free, posting the eighth-fastest time in WSU history.

Washington State sophomore Anna Rauchholz delivered with a big win in the 100 back, sophomore Emily Lundgren finished second in the 100 and 200 breast while senior Kiana Swain was second in the 200 back.

The Cougars closed out the meet with a win in the 400 free relay, beating UCLA for the second straight week after winning the same event against the Bruins at the Fresno State Invite last weekend.
