UAA Women, NCAC Men Lead 2019 NCAA Division III Scoring By Conference

denison-teammates-cheer

The UAA qualified the most athletes to the 2019 NCAA Division III Championships, and scored more points than any other conference on the women’s side. On the men’s side, the NCAC scored the most points, with the first and third place teams as the conference’s sole representatives.

Total points scored can be viewed as one measure of a conference’s strength, along with the total number of schools in a conference that scored points at the National level.

A few very successful divers can make a huge impact on a team’s (and a conference’s) standings. Scoring a few relays can vault a team up in the point standings as well.

For example the ODAC women finished eighth overall in the conference point standings, with just one scoring team: Washington and Lee. W&L finished tenth overall in the team standings with three A final relays, one B final relay, two A final individual swims and one B final individual swim.

See below for the conference breakdown from the men’s and the women’s meet…
