U.S. Olympic Trials Poll: What Event Has the Best Chance of Featuring a World Record?

The United States Olympic Trials are less than a week away and fans around the country will soon learn who will represent Team USA at this summer’s Olympic Games in Paris. The nine days of Trials competition will unfold at Lucas Oil Stadium, home of the Indianapolis Colts. This year marks the first time Trials will be held in Indy since 2000, when the meet was held at the legendary IU Natatorium.

While Trials is expected to be fast, it’s interesting to note that there have been no world records established at the past three editions of the competition. Will that drought end in Indianapolis? Surely, there are some events with better odds than others, but we want to hear from our readership on the world-record topic.

In the poll below, let us know which event you think has the best chance to feature a world record. If your selection is not one of the options,  click “other” and let us know your thinking. Looking forward to seeing your responses, and hope everyone enjoys the upcoming U.S. Olympic Trials as we move down the Road to Paris.

Realistically I don’t think any will fall. But if one does it’ll either be a resurgent Dressel in the 100m Butterfly or one your women in their 100m Butterfly.
