Katie Ledecky will be aiming for her third win of the meet in the 1500 free, where she is the top seed ahead of World Championships silver medalist Katie Grimes. Also in the field are Claire Weinstein, who upset Ledecky in the 200 free, and 1500 Olympic silver medalist Erica Sullivan, aiming to qualify for a U.S. team for the first time in two years. Jillian Cox, the surprise runnerup in the 800 free, will race in the final afternoon heat.

Kate Douglass is the top seed in the women’s 200 IM after becoming the third-fastest American in history in prelims. The two Americans who won medals in the event at last year’s World Championships, Alex Walsh and Leah Hayes, will race on either side of Douglass. Carson Foster has the advantage in a tight men’s race while the race for second is open with Chase Kalisz out. Shaine Casas, the fastest swimmer in the world last year but in the midst of a disappointing meet, is in lane eight.

Bobby Finke and Charlie Clark hope to once again grab Worlds spots in the 800 free after finishing 1-2 last year and also in the 1500 free earlier this week. In the women’s 50 free, Abbey Weitzeil owns the top seed after swimming an impressive 24.24 in prelims, with Gretchen Walsh and Douglass on either side of her. Douglass and Torri Huske will both return for the 50 free final less than 45 minutes after the 200 IM. Erika Brown, the World Championships bronze medalist last year, races in lane two in her final shot to qualify for Fukuoka.

The men’s 50 free will conclude the meet with Ryan Held as the top seed ahead of Jack Alexy and Michael Andrew, with Andrew, last year’s Worlds silver medalist, still not secured in his spot on this year’s team.
