U.S. National Team

The U.S. National team has selected team captains for 1999: Josh Davis, Kurt Grote, Lindsay Benko, Cristina Teuscher and Jenny Thompson.

B.J. Bedford, 26, 1998 and ’99 national champion in the 100m backstroke, has been reinstated on the National Resident Team. She was dismissed last year for a curfew violation at the World Championships in Perth.

Kurt Grote is taking a leave from Stanford Medical School until April 2001 to focus on the Olympic Games.
