U.S. National Junior Teamer Molly Sweeney Picks Tennessee For 2026
NEW COMMIT: One of the top recruits in the Class of 2026, U.S. National Junior Team member Molly Sweeney of Carmel, Indiana, has announced her verbal commitment to the University of Tennessee.
Sweeney owns the fastest times in her class in the 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 IM.
She will join Charlotte Crush and Eliza Wallace in Knoxville as a member of the Lady Vols’ Class of 2030.
She told Swimming World:

An Olympic Trials qualifier, Sweeney does her club swimming with Carmel Swim Club and raced the 100m and 200m breast in Indy this past summer. Last December, she won the 200 breast and 200 IM at Juniors East while taking third in the 100 breast and fifth in the 100 fly.
Her best times include:
- 200 IM – 1:54.58
- 200 breast – 2:07.49
- 100 breast – 59.47
- 400 IM – 4:12.06
- 100 fly – 52.24
- 200 free – 1:47.09
- 100 free – 49.76
- 50 free – 23.00
- 100 back – 55.54
Currently a junior at Carmel High School, Sweeney won the 100 breast and 200 IM at the 2023 and 2024 Indiana State Championships during both her freshman and sophomore seasons. She’s helped the Greyhounds continue their dynasty.
She already holds times in the 200 breast and 200 IM that are fast enough to score at the NCAA Championships.
Sweeney’s parents both played soccer at Butler and are in the school’s Hall of Fame.
