The 2022 U.S. International Team Trials continues from Greensboro Aquatic Center with the Day 4 finals.

After Day 3 featured a world record and two American records, fast times during the Day 4 prelims point to another fast finals session with World Championships spots on the line.

The women’s 400 predictably saw Katie Ledecky take the top seed, while Leah Smith was second. They look poised to make the team in the event, but Bella Sims, Hali Flickinger, Claire Weinstein and Katie Grimes are also in the loaded final.

The men’s 400 free will see Luke Hobson and Trey Freeman as the top qualifiers, while Keiran Smith will be looming.

The women’s 100 breaststroke, as expected, saw Lilly King as the top qualifier, with NCAA champion Kaitlyn Dobler and a trio of Olympians — Annie Lazor, Lydia Jacoby and Alex Walsh — right on their heels. It should be a fast and exciting final at the International Team Trials.

The men’s 100 breaststroke was extremely fast in the prelims with Michael Andrew touching gin 58.78. Meanwhile, Nic Fink will aim to be that fast as well.

The women’s 100 backstroke, as anticipated, is a loaded field with five Olympians plus an NCAA champion in the top eight for the evening. Regan Smith posted the fastest time in the world this year to take the top seed and will look to hold onto it as Rhyan White, Phoebe Bacon and a slew of top names look to keep pace.

The men’s 100 backstroke also is loaded with Justin Ress, Ryan Murphy, Shaine Casas and Hunter Armstrong all going 53-mid or lower. It could be the closest finish of any of the finals so far.
