Two-time Italian Relay Olympian Alex Di Giorgio Tests Positive For Banned Substance

Two-time Olympian Alex Di Giorgio has been provisionally suspended after testing positive for a banned substance in an out-of-competition test, the Italian anti-doping organisation NADO has announced.

Di Giorgio, part of the Italian 4×200 relay that won gold at the 2013 Mediterranean Games, tested positive for Enobosarm (Ostarina) in Livorno, Tuscany, on 13 September.

According to the US National Library of Medicine, is a non-steroidal agent which is designed to work like testosterone, increasing or maintaining muscle growth and strength.

Di Giorgio, who turned 30 in July, was part of the Italian quartet that finished ninth in the 4×200 at Rio 2016 – locked out of the final by 0.04secs – four years after placing 11th in London.

If you can only get 9th in a relay doped . Forget it mate !!
