Twin Sisters Catherine Meisner, Julia Meisner Set to Join Penn State’s Class of 2026
NEW COMMITS: What’s better than committing to your dream school? Committing to your dream school with your twin sister.
That’s the case for twins Catherine Meisner and Julia Meisner of Berkeley Heights, N.J., who have both verbally committed to Penn State for 2022.
They will join Krista Marlin as members of the Nittany Lions’ Class of 2026.
CATHERINE MEISNER
She told Swimming World:

Catherine swims year-round with Somerset Valley YMCA where she is a Junior National qualifier. She won six events at the New Jersey Senior State meet in March and finished 13th in the 200 free as well as 20th in the 500 free at Juniors East in 2019. She also recorded five top-12 finishes at YMCA Long Course Nationals two summers ago.

- 50 free – 23.75
- 100 free – 50.48
- 200 free – 1:47.30
- 500 free – 4:48.51
- 1000 free – 10:09.87
- 1650 free – 17:12.46
- 200 IM – 2:04.90
- 400 IM – 4:23.66
A rising senior at Mount Saint Mary Academy, Catherine is a four-time New Jersey Meet of Champions finalist. The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American won the 200 free and placed fourth in the 500 free as a sophomore while earning gold and bronze, respectively, in those events as a rookie.
JULIA MEISNER
She told Swimming World:

Also competing for Somerset Valley YMCA, Meisner is also a Junior National qualifier. She won four events at the New Jersey Senior State meet in March and was the 400m IM champion at New Jersey Seniors in 2020. She also picked up three victories at Eastern Zone Age Groups in 2019.

- 200 fly – 2:03.27
- 200 IM – 2:02.80
- 400 IM – 4:21.86
- 200 free – 1:51.66
- 100 back – 58.04
- 200 back – 2:02.03
A USA Swimming Scholastic All-American, Julia also competes for Mount Saint Mary Academy where she is a four-time New Jersey Meet of Champions finalist. She raced to fourth in the 200 IM and sixth in the 100 fly as a sophomore while taking sixth and ninth, respectively, in those events during her freshman season.
