Tulane Green Wave Reels In Verbal Commitment From Futures Qualifier Grace Dale
NEW COMMIT: Futures qualifier Grace Dale out of Denver, Colo. has announced her verbal commitment to Tulane University beginning in the fall of 2022.
She will join Elena Gingras, Sydney Mullin and Olcaytu Hatipoglu as a member of the Green Wave’s Class of 2026.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am super excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and continue my academic career at Tulane University! I would like to thank my friends, coaches and especially my family for making this possible! Roll wave?”
Dale, who trains with University of Denver Hilltoppers, most recently won the 50m back at the TOPS Summer Invite where she recorded five additional top-5 finishes. Back in February 2020, she placed fifth in both the 100m and 200m back at Colorado Seniors, as well as ninth in the 50m free.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 23.48
- 100 free – 51.43
- 200 free – 1:52.52
- 100 back – 56.83
- 200 back – 2:01.08
- 200 IM – 2:08.94
- 100 breast – 1:07.57
- 200 breast – 2:25.18
A rising senior at Regis Jesuit High School, Dale finished fourth in the 50 free and sixth in the 100 free at the Colorado 5A State Championships in 2021. She also anchored her team’s 4×50 free and 4×100 free relay that took fourth and ninth, respectively.
Dale is a big pickup for the Green Wave both individually and on relays, as she would’ve been their top sprinter on their lineup last season. She would’ve scored in the B-final of the 50 free and 100 free at last year’s conference meet.
Under head coach Leah Stancil, Tulane finished fifth overall in the team standings at the 2020 American Athletic Conference Championships.
