NEW COMMIT: Freestyle ace Elena Gingras of Portland, Ore. has announced her verbal commitment to continue her academic and swimming career at Tulane University beginning in the fall 0f 2022.
She will join Sydney Mullin and Olcaytu Hatipoglu as a member of the Green Wave’s Class of 2026.
Regarding her commitment, she said:

”
Gingras, who trains year-round with Lake Oswego Swim Club, picked up seven lifetime bests at the Region XII Senior Championships in March 2020 after posting a third-place finish in the 500 free at the Washington Open last January.
In Summer 2019, she grabbed gold in the 400m free and bronze in the 100m/200m free at the Oregon 11&O Championships before going on to compete at Mound Hood Futures.

Currently a junior at Valley Catholic High School, Gingras won the 500 free and was the runner-up in the 100 fly at the Oregon 1-4A State Championships as a freshman.
Under head coach Leah Stancil, Tulane finished fifth overall in the team standings at the 2020 American Athletic Conference Championships. Gingras’ best mile time is already fast enough to place in the top-15 at last year’s conference meet.
