Triple Crossing of the English Channel

A team comprising some of Australia’s best marathon swimmers has come together to attempt to break the world record of 32 hours in crossing the channel three times. Only two other teams have been successful in the history of the English Channel.

The team departs Australia on the August 22, 1997 and will be on standby, pending weather conditions, for a two-week period. The six swimmers are all Western Australians.

The six swimmers are Shelley Taylor-Smith, Barbara Pellick, Nancy Warnock, Peter Blackmore, Mark Dawson, Gary Bradley, and Murray Johnston.
