Townley Haas, Megan Meseck Announce Engagement
Townley Haas capped an unusual 2020 by getting engaged last weekend to long-time girlfriend Megan Meseck.
Haas announced the life milestone on Instagram.
The couple has been together for more than five years, dating back to Haas’ time as an All-American swimmer at the University of Texas.
The 2016 Olympian is coming off a strong fall in the International Swimming League, representing the champion Cali Condors. Haas broke a 10-year-old American short-course record in the 200 freestyle in the ISL bubble in Budapest, part of a stellar season for the mid-distance freestyler.
Haas, who turned 24 on Sunday, was fifth in the 200 free at the Rio Olympics after winning the event at U.S. Olympic Trials. He also took part in the gold-medal-winning 800 free relay in Rio. The 10-time NCAA champion enters 2021 as one of the favorites to reach Tokyo in the mid-distance freestyle events. His international history includes a pair of golds from the Pan Pacific Championships in 2018 in Tokyo and four gold medals, all in relays, at World Championships.
