Tony Soprano Still Alive? Portions of New Jersey Pool Stolen
STIRLING, New Jersey, January 19. RECENTLY, some rumors have been circulating that the entire 2004 Olympic Trials warm-down pool, valued at $500,000, had been stolen from Blue Streak Aquatics – the parent organization of the Berkeley Aquatic Club (BAC). We thought Tony Soprano might have been taken out in the final episode. Maybe not?
Swimming World wanted to help clarify the situation, so we spoke directly to USA Swimming President Jim Wood, the founder of BAC. He stated that while reports were true that a break in did occur where they were storing the steel supports of the pool, the entire pool was not stolen.
"We had a break in of some of the trailers storing the pool, and some of the parts were removed," Wood said. "We're going to be fine and will move on. We're in the process of doing the due diligence on the project, and will continue on schedule."
