Three-time Olympic Champion Katinka Hosszu Announces Pregnancy
Three-time Rio 2016 Olympic champion Katinka Hosszu has announced she will become a mother in a post to social media.
Fellow Hungarians Kristof Milak and Zsuzsanna Jakabos are joined by the likes of Gregorio Paltrinieri, Ranomi Kromowidjojo, Bruno Fratus and coach James Gibson in a post to Instagram, where they describe her as “the best, inspiring, persistent, ambitious and legendary”.
Hosszu then appears in the final shot saying “mother” although the 33-year-old doesn’t say anything beyond that in terms of when the baby is due.
Hosszu became engaged to Máté Gelencsér in January 2022 and the couple married in August last year following the European Championships in Rome where she said she wanted to reach 100 international medals before she retired.
She currently stands three shy of that target with 97 trips to the international podium.
