Three-time Olympian Elizabeth Beisel Announces Engagement to Jack Nichting
Olympic swimmer Elizabeth Beisel announced her engagement to Jack Nichting on Wednesday.
Beisel made the announcement with photos on social media with the caption: “Yes.” Beisel and Nichting met on the set of the show “Survivor” when both were contestants on the show.
Elizabeth Beisel is a three-time Olympian, qualifying for the 2008 games in Beijing, the 2012 games in London and the 2016 games in Rio de Janeiro.
In 2012, she earned two Olympic medals; a silver in the 400 individual medley, and a bronze in the 200m backstroke. At the 2016 Olympics, she was voted by her teammates to serve as captain of the U.S. Olympic Team.
Elizabeth Beisel has remained in the sport, raising money and awareness for different causes, and also broadcasting swimming events as part of the NBC team at the Olympic trials and 2020 Olympics in Tokyo. She retired in 2017 after being a part of the U.S. National Team for 12 consecutive years, a record for American women.
As for the causes, Beisel became the first woman in history to swim to Block Island, Rhode Island. Her swim, named “Block Cancer”, was a 20K unassisted journey across the Block Island Sound to raise money for cancer research and clinical trials. On July 1, 2021, she lost her father to pancreatic cancer, and dedicated the swim in his honor.
Love her! And because of her there is the backstroke edge??
