Thorpe Breaks Short-Course World Record

PERTH, AUSTRALIA – Australia’s Ian Thorpe broke the world record in the men’s 400m freestyle at the Australian National Short-Course Championships.

Thorpe’s time of 3:39.82 beat the previous mark of 3:40.46 set by New Zealand’s Danyon Loader.
