Texas Longhorns Score 2021 Verbal from Legacy Nathan Quarterman
NEW COMMIT: Boise, Idaho’s Nathan Quarterman has announced his verbal pledge to the University of Texas and will join Luke Hobson and Anthony Grimm in Austin as a member of the Longhorns’ class of 2025.
His father, Ken Quarterman, also swam at Texas in the late 1980s.
Quarterman, who owns a pair of U.S. Open standards, does his club swimming with the Boise YMCA and recently placed sixth in the 200 back and 18th in the 100 back at Juniors West in December. This past summer, he earned a best time at Mount Hood Sectionals before going on to race three events at Junior Nationals.
He told Swimming World:
“I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to swim and study at The University of Texas. It has been a childhood dream of mine and I can’t believe it’s coming true. I want to thank my family, coaches, and friends for the continuous support throughout this amazing journey. Hook’em”
His best times include:
- 100 back – 48.44
- 200 back – 1:44.56
- 100 free – 46.43
- 200 free – 1:39.74
- 500 free – 4:37.97
- 200 IM – 1:51.33
- 400 IM – 4:05.01
A current junior at Boise High School, Quarterman is the Idaho state record holder in the 100 back and 200 free. The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American has remained undefeated in those events at the Idaho 4A State Championships and helped his 4×50 medley and 4×100 free relays to state records as well.
