Texas A&M Women Down TCU Behind Chloe Stepanek, Miranda Grana

The Texas A&M women visited Fort Worth Friday for a dual meet against Texas Christian University, and the Aggies emerged with a 176-116 victory, surrendering only three wins to the Horned Frogs all afternoon.

A pair of Texas A&M swimmers won two individual events each. Chloe Stepanek came in first place in the 200 freestyle (1:48.21) and 100 freestyle (50.32) while Miranda Grana scored top times in the 100 backstroke (53.22) and 100 butterfly (54.61). Grana led off A&M’s 200  medley relay, combining with Hannah O’LearyOlivia Theall and Jordan Buchler to win by more than a second in 1:42.02.

Also for the Aggies, Rachel Love came in first in the 1000 free in 10:06.39, and Katie Walker won the 200 butterfly in 2:00.78. Aviv Barzelay snuck under 2:00 to win the 200 back (1:59.87). Abby Grottle led the way in the 500 free (4:57.82) before Theall ran away with the 200 IM win (2:03.16). In diving, Joslyn Oakley placed first on 1-meter (395.80) and 3-meter (337.15), while the 200 free relay went to A&M’s Chloe McKnightKaitlyn OwensKatie Walker and Martina Fuentes in 1:35.30.

TCU’s Nina Vadovicova placed first in the 100 breaststroke (1:03.65) and 200 breaststroke (2:17.49), and teammate Olivia Rhodes got the job done in the 50 free (23.33). 200 (2:00.78) and second in the 100 (56.08).
