Texas A&M Short Pool Discussed at Rules and Regulations Meeting

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado, May 31. AT a meeting of the USA Swimming Rules and Regulations committee, those assembled discussed several options on how to deal with times from the Texas Senior Circuit meet held in a 49.97-meter pool in College Station, Texas.

According to USA Swimming legislation, neither the times nor potential conversions can be allowed to be entered into USA Swimming's database. However, the committee voted to recommend to national team coach Mark Schubert that he allow swimmers that made their first Olympic Trials cut at the meet to be entered at the minimum qualifying standard.

Additionally, the committee voted to allow swimmers making Junior National, National and U.S. Open cuts at the meet to apply for a waiver to enter those meets at the minimum qualifying standard.
