NEW COMMIT: Texas native Clayton Bobo has elected to stay in-state for his collegiate career by verbally committing to Texas A&M. Bobo attends Stratford High School and swims for the Dads Swim Club.
Bobo is a sprint freestyler who has also shown talent in the butterfly events. His best SCY times are:
- 50 Free: 19.90
- 100 Free: 43.56
- 200 Free: 1:38.18

Bobo won both the 50 (19.95) and 100 (43.56) freestyles at the 2017 UIL Swimming and Diving 6A State Meet. At the 2016 Speedo Junior Championships West, he finished second in the 50 freestyle (19.90) and third in the 100 freestyle (43.81). He also came in seventh in the 100 butterfly (48.72) and tenth in the 200 freestyle (1:38.24).
With his current best times, Bobo would have scored in the C final of the 50 freestyle and the B final of the 100 freestyle at the 2017 SEC Championships. He will likely be a welcome contributor to the Aggie’s relays as well.
Via his Instagram account, Bobo announced his commitment:
“Extremely excited to announce that I will be continuing my academic and swimming career at Texas A&M University! I would like to thank my coaches, friends and family for helping me get to this point! Gig’em!”
