Texas A&M Aggies Keep Junior National Finalist Joelle Reddin In-State for 2021-22 Season
NEW COMMIT: Texas A&M University has landed a new in-state verbal commitment for the fall of 2021 from Joelle Reddin of Frisco, Texas.
She will join fellow Texas natives Meredith Brown and Shannon Bagnal as well as Red River Aquatic Club teammates Brooke Fegley and Sarah Holt in College Station as a member of the Aggies’ class of 2025.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at Texas A&M. I want to thank my family, friends and all of my coaches that helped me reach this point. I can’t wait to be a part of such an amazing program and an Aggie! #GigEm”
A talented butterflyer and IMer, Reddin does her club swimming with Texas Ford Aquatics and is a Junior National qualifier. She most recently finaled in six events at College Station Sectionals after placing 16th in the 400 IM at Juniors West in December. Last summer, she finished eighth in the 200m fly, 13th in the 200m IM, and 16th in the 400m IM at Des Moines Futures.
Her best times include:
- 100 fly – 57.32
- 200 fly – 2:01.65
- 200 IM – 2:03.24
- 400 IM – 4:22.25
Also competing for Lone Star High School, Reddin is a six-time Texas 5A State Championship finalist. The two-time USA Swimming Scholastic All-American was the runner-up in both the 200 IM and 500 free as a junior while taking fourth and sixth, respectively, in those events during her sophomore season.
Under head coach Steve Bultman, Texas A&M finished sixth overall in the team standings at the 2020 SEC Championships.
