Texas 6A State Champion Malia Rausch Verbally Commits to Ohio State for 2021
NEW COMMIT: The Ohio State University has earned a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2021 from Austin, Texas freestyler Malia Rausch.
She will join Mairin O’Brien, Paige Hall and Gwen Woodbury with the Buckeyes as a member of the class of 2025.
She told Swimming World:
“I am SO beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my athletic and academic career at THE Ohio State University. Every aspect of the program was unmatched by any other school I visited, from the extremely strong culture of the team and coaches , to the world class academics, to the unique and superior resources that are provided for OSU student-athletes, and the breathtaking facilities. I can not wait to be a part of Buckeye Nation and to see how far this amazing team of women is able to go!! Go Bucks‼️‼️”
Rausch swims year-round with Austin Swim Club and owns two U.S. Open standards with three additional Junior National cuts. She finished 10th in both the 200 free and 500 free, as well as 11th in the mile, at Juniors West in December after earning a pair of best times at the Toyota U.S. Open. This past summer, she recorded 100% lifetime bests at Des Moines Futures where she registered five top-10 finishes.
Her best times include:
