NEW COMMIT: Texas A&M University has received their first verbal commitment for the Aggies’ Class of 2026 from Junior National qualifier and in-state standout Connor Foote of San Antonio, Texas.

The Aggies know how to keep local talent in the Lone Star State, as their commits for the fall of 2021 – Noah Beladi, Clayton Conklin, Jacob DeLagerheim, Seth RenoTrey DickeyMunzy Kabbara and Tyler Hulet – all hail from Texas.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I am very excited to announce my verbal commitment to further my academic and swimming career at Texas A&M University! Thank you to my family, coaches, and friends who have made it all possible. I cant wait to see what comes in the future as an Aggie. Gig ‘em!??”

Foote, who does his club swimming with Alamo Area Aquatic Association, earned five best times at the Toyota U.S. Open back in November. In Summer 2019, he recorded four top-6 finishes at the Texas Open before going on to earn two lifetime bests at Austin Sectionals.

His best times include:

  • 50 back – 22.31
  • 100 back – 49.23
  • 100 fly – 49.11
  • 50 free – 20.96
  • 100 free – 44.75
  • 200 free – 1:42.37

Currently a junior at Alamo Heights High School where he also plays water polo, Foote is a four-time individual Texas 5A State Championship finalist. He collected gold in the 100 free and silver in the 100 back as a sophomore while taking 20th and 16th, respectively, in those events during his freshman season.

In 2020, he split a 22.51 as the lead-off on his team’s 4×50 medley relay that went on to win and lower their own Texas 5A class record.

Under head coach Jay Holmes, Texas A&M finished second in the team standings at the 2020 SEC Championships behind Florida.
