The Netherlands have announced a squad of 17 for the pool programme in Fukuoka while Sharon van Rouwendaal is the sole open water swimmer as she seeks a second straight world title.

Among the 11 women headed for the Marine Messe are Tes Schouten, who last week took her first voyage inside 2:22 in the 200 breaststroke when she went 2:21.71 at the Dutch Long-Course Championships in Amersfoot.

Schouten has been taking chunks off her national records all year having also gone 1:05.71 over 100 at the Eindhoven Qualification Meet in April.
