Tennessee Takes Down Four of Six SEC Weekly Honors

The University of Tennessee earned four of the six SEC Weekly Honors handed out by the conference on Tuesday.

Jordan Crooks and Mona McSharry were the top men’s and women’s swimmers. Bryden Hattie was the men’s diver of the week, while Camille Spink was the women’s freshman of the week. Ana Monroy of Florida is the women’s diver of the week, while LSU sprinter Jere Hribar is the top men’s freshman.

Crooks helped the Vols top LSU in a dual meet. He won the 50 freestyle in 18.80 seconds and the 100 fly in 45.18. The Cayman Islands international lead off the Vols’ winning 400 free relay and swam fly in the 200 medley relay victory.

McSharry won the 50 free in 22.12 over LSU, then won the 200 breaststroke in 2:06.63. The Irish international swam breaststroke to help the Volunteers’ 200 medley relay to a victory.

Hattie swept the diving events against the Tigers. The senior from Canada scored 400.35 points to prevail on 3-meter and 366.15 on 1-meter to take his season tally to 11 wins from seven meets.

Spink won the 100 free in the meet against LSU. Her time was 48.03 seconds. She finished second in the 200 free in 1:44.63. She swam legs on Tennessee’s victorious 200 medley and 400 free relays.

Monroy won three diving events in an in-state dual with Florida State. The freshman from Mexico scored 345.00 points on 3-meter, 323.33 on platform and 302.45 on 1-meter.

Hribar set a best time of 19.39 seconds to finish as the runner-up to Crooks in the 50 free against Tennessee. The Croatian was also second in the 100 free in 43.11 seconds and helped the Bayou Bengals finished second in the 400 free and 200 medley relays.
