Taylor Ruck Sets Three Canadian NAG Records at 2017 NYAC Cup

The 2017 NYAC Cup at the Toronto Pan Am Centre took place from Nov. 3-5 and featured recent Stanford commit and World Junior Champion Taylor Ruck.
Ruck competed in the 50 and 100 free, 100 and 200 back and 200 IM, setting three new Canadian National Age Group Records in the process. In her first competition back since the 2017 World Junior Championships, Ruck had the following results in the short course meters format:
- 100 back: 57.26 – NAG Record
- 200 back: 2:03.79 – NAG Record
- 50 free: 24.48 – NAG Record
- 100 free: 52.60
- 200 IM: 2:09.67
Her splits for her backstroke NAG records were as follows:
100 back: 28.15 – 29.11
200 back: 29.28 – 31.35 – 31.90 – 31.26
She bettered the previous records by .37 seconds in the 100 back, 2.09 seconds in the 200 back and .08 in the 50 free. Despite earning four medals at the 2016 Short Course World Championships, Ruck is still releatively new to SCM racing, and is likely to continue her progression in this format.
