Swiss Standout Noè Ponti Breaks Down Fabulous Finish to 2024 Season on Social Kick Podcast

During the second half of the 2024 campaign, Swiss star Noè Ponti ranked as one of the elite performers in the sport. The butterfly specialist torched the World Cup circuit, setting multiple world records in the 50-meter butterfly. Then, at the World Short Course Championships in Budapest, Ponti claimed gold medals in three individual events – 50 fly, 100 fly and 100 individual medley.

The victory at the World Champs in the 100 butterfly was particularly pleasing, as it featured Ponti breaking Caeleb Dressel’s world record in the event. Ponti stormed to the gold medal behind a time of 47.71, which cut .07 off the 2020 standard of Dressel. Undoubtedly, Ponti is carrying significant momentum into 2025, where his focus will be on the World Championships in Singapore.

The bronze medalist in the 100 butterfly at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Ponti just missed adding hardware to his collection at last summer’s Olympics in Paris. Ponti finished fourth in the 100 fly, with his 50.55 effort just off the 50.45 required for bronze. In the 200 butterfly, Ponti added a fifth-place showing with a national-record time of 1:54.14.

Ponti recently appeared as a guest on the Social Kick Podcast, which is hosted by Bryan Lundquist, John Mullen and Luke Paddington. In addition to discussing his competitive performances throughout 2024, Ponti went over the training that has made him one of the premier butterfly performers in the world.

Swimming World is thrilled to partner with the Social Kick Podcast to provide fans around the world with superb interviews with some of the sport’s biggest names.
