"Since SwimmingWorld.TV's inception in 2006, our foremost goal has been and will always be to promote the sport of swimming. This weekend sets a new high-water mark in achieving that goal with SWTV sending crews to both sides of the North American Continent. Darren Grose and Matt Martinez will be calling races on the West Coast from Northern California, while Garrett McCaffrey and Ted Harris will be calling races from the East Coast in Florida. This is a milestone in the evolution of SWTV," said Brent Rutemiller CEO of Sports Publications International, publishers of Swimming World Magazine and SwimmingWorld.TV.
SWTV will bring you live and on-demand coverage of both events tomorrow. The Jax50 Sprint Challenge will go live from Florida at 6 p.m. ET from the Bolles School, while the Far Western Championships coverage in California will go live around 7:30 p.m. ET.
The Jax50 will feature some of the top swimmers in the world helping to raise money and awareness for leukemia research. Ryan Lochte, Cullen Jones, Matt Grevers, George Bovell, Christine Magnuson, Amanda Weir, Kara Lynn Joyce and many more will be in Jacksonville for a one-day round robin competition to determine the fastest 50 freestyler at the meet.
Meanwhile, the Far Western Championships is one of the top age group meets in the country helping top-flight talent break through to the next level of competition in the sport. The meet began April 8 and runs through the weekend.
