PHOENIX, Arizona, November 22. WITH December right around the corner, the annual celebratory issue of Swimming World Magazine naming the top aquatic athletes in the world will soon be hitting our subscribers' mailboxes and inboxes.
Today, we start announcing the winners of each of our awards named in our December issue.
The 2009 Swimming World Divers of the Year are Guo Jingjing and Qin Kai.
Guo, who already is the most decorated diver in Olympic history, won her third straight Female Diver of the Year award. Known as the Diving Queen of China, Guo won a pair of title at the 2009 World Championships.
Qin picked up his second award, after first winning it in 2007. Qin claimed two gold medals at the 2009 World Championships en route to capturing the award.
