Swimming World Announces Partnership With Standout Sprinter David Curtiss Of N.C. State
Swimming World Magazine is excited to announce a new partnership with David Curtiss, a sophomore standout at North Carolina State University and one of the top sprinters in the United States. Swimming World and Curtiss, who is a U.S. National Team member, have agreed to support one another through the Swimming World website and the social-media channels of both parties.
Curtiss will periodically submit content, including commentaries, reflections on his career and training and personal news, and Swimming World will promote these articles. Swimming World hopes that the partnership with Curtiss will be of interest to the swimming community, especially as Curtiss prepares for March’s NCAA Championships and, eventually, the chase for a spot on the Team USA roster for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
“We are beyond fortunate to partner with David,” said John Lohn, the Editor-in-Chief of Swimming World. “While he is a special talent in the pool, David is a wonderful ambassador for the sport on the deck. He recognizes an opportunity to give back to swimming, to promote the sport to the next generation of athletes and to include fans in his journey.”
Curtiss is one of the elite sprinters in the American arsenal and captured the title in the 50-yard freestyle as a freshman at last year’s Atlantic Coast Conference Championships. Curtiss also secured All-American accolades in the 50 freestyle at the NCAA Champs, where he placed 15th. At the 2020 United States Olympic Trials, Curtiss was a finalist in the 50 freestyle.
With Curtiss playing critical roles in the sprint-freestyle events and as a relay member, N.C. State is expected to be one of the top teams at the NCAA Championships.
“Swimming is a sport that should be known and cherished by all and having a reliable, fun, and lively news source like Swimming World truly promotes the sport in the best light,” Curtiss said. “I love swimming, for my club, college, and country. Being able to do this is a blessing, and to have a team like those of Swimming World and TYR only makes my journey more enjoyable, interesting, and inclusive.
“This partnership means a lot to me as I love to connect with swimmers all over the world, and having a great team behind me will assist me in reaching more people to spread the enjoyment and knowledge that I’ve gained so far from competing. I have high hopes for the future, in that I am able to reach more swimmers of all strokes and talents. Knowing that Swimming World will be along with me for that journey makes my goals achievable.”
