Swimming Hall of Fame to Induct 12 Tomorrow

FT. LAUDERDALE, Florida, may 9. THE International Swimming Hall of Fame (ISHOF) will induct twelve aquatic superstars into the Hall at its annual Honors Recognition ceremony, tomorrow and Saturday, in Fort Lauderdale
Heading up the class of 2002 are swimmers Jill Sterkel and Summer Sanders and coach Eddie Reese. This year's honorees:
Swimmers:
IGOR POLIANSKY (Russia)
Backstroker who set four world records, won Olympic gold and bronze medals (1988)
SUMMER SANDERS (USA)
Olympic gold, silver, bronze medalist (1992); World Championship gold medalist, in butterfly and individual medley
JILL STERKEL (USA)
Four-time Olympian (1976, '80, '84' and '88). A sprint freestylewr who won Olympic gold and bronze medals
MEL STEWART (USA)
World record-holder in the 200m butterfly, a 1992 Olympic gold and bronze medalist and World Championships gold medalist

EDDIE REESE (USA)
Four-time Olympic Games coach; World Championships coach
Water Polo player
TERRY SCHROEDER (USA)
Four Olympic teams; twice named "World Player of the Year"
