Georgia Tech has added SwimMAC’s Jeffrey Murray to the class of 2021. The USA Swimming Scholastic All-American attends Marvin Ridge High School. He is the defending North Carolina 3A State Champion in the 200 freestyle.
Murray’s best times are:
- 50 Free 20.88
- 100 Free 45.98
- 200 Free 1:39.61
- 100 Back 51.27
While the 100 backstroke is Murray’s top event, he has had some quickly improving freestyle times. From 2015 to 2016 he took two and a half seconds off his 200 freestyle time, one and a half from his 100 best and seven tenths from his 50 freestyle.
Murray said he is “excited to have been offered this opportunity to swim for Georgia Tech!”
When Murray gets to Atlanta in the fall the Yellow Jackets’ backstroke training group will still include last year’s 100 back ACC scorers Rodrigo Correia, Brian Woodbury, and Mark Keaveney, and William Oberg.
Noah Harasz (1:37.84) was Georgia Tech’s only scorer in the 200 freestyle.
