Susquehanna Picked to Win Fifth-Straight Landmark Conference Title
TOWSON, Maryland, October 8. The Susquehanna women’s swimming & diving team has been selected to win its fifth-straight Landmark Conference title as the women top the conference’s Preseason Poll, released Wednesdaymorning.
The Crusaders received 76 points and seven of nine total first-place votes in the poll. Catholic was runner-up with 64 points and one first-place vote, followed by Scranton in third with 56 points and the final first-place vote. Rounding out the poll was USMMA (38 points), Marywood (36), Juniata (28), Elizabethtown (21), Drew (17) and Goucher (15).
Last year, the SU women captured an unprecedented fourth consecutive championship crown by a 143.5-point margin over Scranton. The squad returns all of its All-Conference performers from a year ago and also welcome five freshmen to the team.
This season, the Landmark championships will be held Feb. 14-16 at the Germantown Swim Center in Germantown, Md., the first time the championship meet has been held at a neutral site.
