Suburban Seahawks Club’s Alex Boeckx Commits to Rider University
NEW COMMIT: Folsom, Penn. native Alex Boeckx has given his commitment to continue his academic and swimming at Rider University beginning in the 2020-21 season.
Boeckx competes year-round for the Suburban Seahawks Club under coach Charlie Kennedy and recently earned silver in the 100 breast at the NCAP Invitational in December. This past summer, he finished fifth in the 50m breast at NCSAs after earning three best times at Middle Atlantic LCM Seniors.
He told Swimming World:
“I am humbled to announce my commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Rider University! The coaching staff and team made me feel very welcomed. Rider is an environment where I feel I can grow as a student and as a swimmer. Thank you to everyone who has supported me along the way. Go Broncs!”
His best times are:
- 50 free – 21.25
- 100 breast – 55.57
- 100 free – 46.69
- 100 back – 52.34
- 100 fly – 51.27
- 200 IM – 1:51.44
Also competing for Ridley High School under coach Kevin Pierce, Boeckx has qualified for multiple PIAA State Championship meets in both the 200 IM and 100 breast. Last year, Boeckx brought home two PIAA state medals after finishing third in the 100 breast and seventh in the 200 IM. Boeckx holds every individual team swimming record on the Ridley record board and was voted a team captain for his senior year by his teammates.
