Sub-20 50 Freestyler Sean Setzer Selects In-State Tar Heels

NEW COMMIT: Sean Setzer, one of the top sprinters in his class, has verbally committed to his in-state North Carolina Tar Heels for Fall 2024. Setzer hails from Wilmington, N.C.

He will join PJ Foy, Eddie Jin and Nate Hohm in Chapel Hill as a member of the Tar Heels’ Class of 2028.

His best times include:

50 Free – 19.97
100 Free – 44.71
200 Free – 1:40.46
100 Breast – 56.38

Setzer does his club swimming with Waves of Wilimington, Inc. and most recently competed at Ocala Futures where he earned silver in the 50m free and bronze in the 100m free. He had a great showing at Cary Sectionals in March, achieving best times in all his events and grabbing silver in the 50m free.

Currently a senior at Eugene Ashley High School, Setzer sprinted to second in the 50 free at the North Carolina 4A State Championships as a junior.
