This week Stephanie Au was officially named to Hong Kong’s Olympic Swim Team. Now, it has been announced that she will also carry Hong Kong’s flag at the Opening Ceremony on August 5.
The 24 year old told media, “It will be the shiniest day ever for me.”
This will be Au’s third trip to the Games. The former Cal bear will swim the 4×100 medley relay in August.
In 2008 she was Hong Kong’s youngest team member as she competed in the 200, 400, and 800 freestyle.
In 2012, Au raced the 100 and 200 backstrokes.
She is the Hong Kong record holder in the 200, 400, 800, and 1500 long course freestyles, as well as the 400 freestyle and 400 medley relays.
