Stanford Swims Past UCLA in Pac-12 Showdown

The Stanford women’s swimming and diving team defeated UCLA 127-111 in a Pac-12 dual on Friday.

Stanford’s Natalie Mannion won the 1000 freestyle in 10:00.02. Lillie Nordmann won the 200 free in 1:46.04 and 500 free in 4:48.40. Caroline Bricker won the 400 IM in 4:11.77. Amy Tang won the 100 backstroke in 54.27, just three tenths ahead of teammate Gigi Johnson (54.57). Lucy Thomas took first in the 100 breaststroke (59.61), going 1-2 with Bricker (1:00.96).

Tang, Kayla Wilson, Anna Shaw and Nordmann won the 200 free relay in 1:30.38 to close the meet for the Cardinal.

UCLA won the 200 medley relay with Fay Lustria, Eva Carlson, Joanie Cash and Brooke Schaffer getting to the wall in 1:39.55.

Schaffer won the 50 free in 22.85 and the 100 free in 49.60. Aislinn Walsh won the 100 butterfly in 54.35, just three hundredths ahead of Cash (54.38) for a 1-2 UCLA finish.

UCLA’s Eden Cheng won 1-meter diving with a score of 277.00, going 1-2-3 with Savana Trueb (267.10) and Zoe Jespersgaard (266.25). Jespersgaard won 3-meter diving with a score of 294.5, ahead of Cheng (293.5) and Trueb (254.05) for another 1-2-3 Bruin finish.
