Stanford Gains Verbal Pledge From Sprinter Andy Kravchenko
NEW COMMIT: Stanford University has received a new verbal commitment for the 2025-26 season and beyond from sprint freestyler and U.S. Open qualifier Andy Kravchenko of Jacksonville, Florida.
Regarding his commitment, he said:
“Honored to announce my commitment to swim and study at Stanford University. I’m appreciative of everyone’s support along the journey. Extra thankful to my brother Lucas for paving the way. GO CARD‼️”
Kravchenko does his club swimming with Bolles School Sharks and finished seventh in the 50 free and 10th in the 100 free at Juniors East last December. More recently, he earned silver in the 50m free at Florida Senior Championships in July. He also won the 50 free and 100 free at Florida Spring Championships back in March.
His best times include:
- 50 free – 19.87
- 100 free – 43.66
- 200 free – 1:38.83
- 100 back – 49.18
- 100 breast – 56.23
Currently a senior at Bolles School, Kravchenko was the 50 free champion at the 2023 Florida 1A State Championships. He won gold in the 50 free and silver in the 100 free at the state meet as a sophomore, too, placing second in the 50 free as a freshman.
The 2024-25 season marks Stanford’s first in the Atlantic Coast Conference. He’s just off what it took to make it back to finals in the 50 free at the 2024 ACC Championships.
His older brother, Lucas Kravchenko, competed for Florida.
