Stanford continued its momentum at the 2017 NCAA Women’s Championships with an American, NCAA and US Open Record in the 200 free relay. This is their second thrashing of the NCAA, American and US Open record of the meet after the demolition of the old 800 free relay record last night. Simone Manuel (21.44), Lia Neal (21.30), Janet Hu (21.78) and Ally Howe (21.63) swam a 1:26.15 to break Arizona’s 1:26.20 record from 2009, which had Lara Jackson, Lindsey Kelly, Justine Schluntz and Taylor Baughman.

They will swim in the A-final as the top seed ahead of California (1:26.67), Georgia (1:26.90), NC State (1:27.32), Auburn (1:27.51), Louisville (1:27.65), Arizona and Wisconsin (1:27.88). Stanford will be looking for redemption in that relay after they won the relay at last year’s championships, before ultimately getting disqualified.
