NEW COMMIT: Germantown, Wis. native and Junior National qualifier Sabina Mrzyglod has announced her verbal commitment to Georgia Tech beginning in the fall of 2022.

She will join Kendal Chunn of Mount Pleasant, S.C. as a member of the Yellow Jackets’ Class of 2026.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am so excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at Georgia Tech! I’d like to thank my coaches, family, and friends for all their support and helping me get to this point. I can’t wait to be part of this amazing team! GO JACKETS!!??

Mrzyglod, who does her club swimming with Rocket Aquatics, has achieved most of her personal best times since the pandemic started. Before COVID, she grabbed silver in the 50 free and bronze in the 100 fly at Wisconsin States in March 2020.

In August 2019, she achieved seven best times at the Wisconsin 13&O LCM Championships where her highest finish was a seventh-place showing in the 100m free.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 23.52
  • 100 free – 51.18
  • 200 free – 1:52.87
  • 100 fly – 55.05
  • 200 IM – 2:05.97

Currently a junior at Germantown High School, Mrzyglod is a five-time individual Wisconsin DI State Championship finalist. She sprinted to fourth in the 100 free and fifth in the 50 free as a junior while taking fifth and seventh, respectively, in those events during her junior season.

Mrzyglod will add valuable depth both individually and on relays when she arrives on campus at the start of the 2022-23 season. She would’ve been their fastest 100 butterflyer last season, their second-fastest 50 freestyler, and would’ve ranked No. 3 on their lineup in the 100 free.
