Sprinter Katie Faris of San Clemente Aquatic Team Chooses Boise State
NEW COMMIT: San Clemente, Calif. native Katie Faris has selected Boise State University for her college career and will suit up for the Broncos in the fall of 2020.
Primarily a sprint freestyler, Faris does her club swimming with San Clemente Aquatic Team and capped off her summer season by earning bronze in both the 50m free and 100m free at the MVN Junior Olympics after earning a pair of best times at Santa Clarita Sectionals. Last winter, she finaled in two events at the Speedo Champions Series before going on to raced the 50/100 free combo at Carlsbad Sectionals. Also competing for San Clemente High School, Faris has competed at the CIF Southern DI Section Championships each of the last three seasons, most recently taking 14th in the 50 free and 17th in the 100 free as a junior.
She told Swimming World:

Her best times include:
- 50 free – 24.04
- 100 free – 52.44
- 200 free – 1:57.56
Faris will add valuable depth both individually and on relays when she arrives on campus as a member of the class of 2024. She has consistently made improvements each season and will join a training group led by Lauren Vitort and Carly Palmer.
