Sprinter Josie Connelly Pledges 2024 Verbal To Tennessee Lady Vols
NEW COMMIT: The University of Tennessee has received a new verbal commitment for the fall of 2024 from Josie Connelly of Fenton, Michigan.
She will join Jillian Crooks in Knoxville as a member of the Lady Vols’ Class of 2028.
Regarding her commitment, she said:
“I am EXTREMELY excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and athletic career at the University of Tennessee!! I would like to say a huge thank you to everyone involved throughout my recruiting process. I would also like to thank my family and friends who helped me with my decision!! GO VOLS ”
A sprinter, Connelly trains year-round with OLY Swimming and was the runner-up in the 50m free at the NCSA Championships this past summer where she also placed fourth in the 50m back. Back in March, she sprinted to fifth in the 50 free at NCSAs and took 15th in that event at Juniors East in December 2021.
Her best times include:
- 50 free – 22.64
- 100 free – 50.41
- 200 free – 1:51.62
- 100 back – 55.03
- 100 breast – 1:04.57
Connelly is currently a junior at Lake Fenton High School.
Connelly’s top 50 free time is just off of scoring at the 2022 SEC Championships. The Lady Vols won the conference title a season ago.
