NEW COMMIT: Harvard University has picked up a big verbal commitment* for its Class of 2028 from one of the top recruits in the class: National qualifier Evan Croley of San Antonio, Texas.

He will join Joshua Chen in Cambridge in the fall of 2024.

Regarding his commitment, he said:

“I’m honored to finally announce my commitment to the admissions process at Harvard University. Thank you Mom, Dad, family, Coach Luke, my amazing girlfriend, and friends for pushing me to this new beginning. Additionally, I’m grateful to Coach Kevin and Coach Dan for offering me this opportunity. See y’all at NC’s. Go Crimson.”

Croley does his club swimming with Streamline Aquatics and placed 13th in the 50 free, 14th in the 100 free, 16th in the 100 fly and 17th in the 100 back at Juniors West back in December. This past March, he sprinted to sixth in the 50 free at College Station Sectionals.

His best times include:

  • 50 free – 20.04
  • 100 free – 43.48
  • 100 back – 48.08
  • 200 back – 1:46.52
  • 100 fly – 48.05

A rising senior at Clark High School, Croley placed third in both the 100 free and 100 back at the 2023 UIL 6A State Championships. He took third and fourth, respectively, in those events as a sophomore.

Croley’s top times in the 100 free would’ve placed him fourth in the 100 free at the 2023 Ivy League Championships, where he also would’ve scored in the B-final of the 50 free, 100 back and 200 back.

*IVY LEAGUE DISCLAIMER:* A “verbal commitment” does not guarantee admission. An Ivy League coach cannot guarantee admission but can only commit support in the admissions process.
