Traditionally, Swimming World caps each year by revisiting some of its most-read stories from the previous months. Hall of Fame coach Ursula Carlile died at the age of 86 in October, her passing sparking a flood of memories and appreciation from her stellar career. Carlile, along with her Hall of Fame husband Forbes, were at the forefront of coaching in Australia for decades.

2. Michael Phelps Announces He, Nicole, Expecting Boy Number Four

During his Hall of Fame induction speech in September, 28-time Olympic medalist Michael Phelps announced that he and his wife, Nicole, were expecting the birth of their fourth son.

3. ISHOF Coaches Clinic: Bob Bowman On Underwater and Kick Training (Video)

Ahead of his induction into the International Swimming Hall of Fame, coach Bob Bowman appeared at the ISHOF Coaches Clinic. One of his sessions focused on underwater and kick training, including examples of what his athletes do during workouts.
