Emily Pincus has committed to swim for South Dakota State University beginning in the fall, after graduating from Champlin Park High School with honors this spring. Pincus is on her school record holding 200 and 400 freestyle relays. She was a captain of the school team and an All Conference and All Section honoree, in addition to being a Minnesota High School state finalist.
Her best times are:
- 50 free- 24.71
- 100 free- 53.28
- 200 free-1:55.63
- 500 free- 5:12.77
At the 2017 Summit League Championships, Pincus would have finished just a second shy of scoring in the 200 freestyle and been two tenths away from a second swim in the 100. Pincus should see improvement as she focuses on swimming. Through her junior year she was a three sport athlete. She is a USA Triathlon National Qualifier who has competed two half iron mans and a marathon.
Pincus explained her excitement for the next four years,
“I’m so excited about the opportunity to swim and study at SDSU! It’s a dream come true to be able to compete as a division one athlete and I can’t wait to be a part of this program! With supportive coaches, a team atmosphere that immediately felt like a family, and a nursing program that is second to none, I have full confidence SDSU is the right place for me. Go Jacks!
