South Carolina Swim Club’s Callie Johnson Commits to University of San Diego
NEW COMMIT: Callie Johnson of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, has declared her commitment to the University of San Diego as a member of the class of 2023.
Johnson swims year-round with South Carolina Swim Club and most recently competed at the SC LCM Championships where she had five second-swims and five personal bests after recording eight top-12 finishes at the SC SCY Championships last February. Also competing for Wando High School, Johnson is a six-time South Carolina 5A State Championship finalist. She placed third in the 200 IM and fifth in the 100 breast as a senior after placing sixth and fourth, respectively, in those events during her junior season.
Her best times include:
- 100 breast – 1:06.27
- 200 breast – 2:25.87
- 100 fly – 58.81
- 200 fly – 2:10.02
- 200 IM – 2:08.51
- 50 free – 25.06
When she suits up for the Toreros in the fall of 2020, she’ll add her talents to training groups that will include Kailyn Evans, Lillian Benwell and Maeve Murdoch. She would’ve scored in the C-final of the 200 IM, 100 breast, 200 breast and 200 fly at the 2018 MPSF Championships.
