NEW COMMIT: Naperville, Ill. native Paige Collins has announced her verbal commitment to the University of South Carolina and will arrive in Columbia in the fall of 2021.

She will join Maddie Pierce and Makenzy Mills as a member of the Gamecocks’ class of 2025.

Regarding her commitment, she said:

“I am beyond excited to announce my verbal commitment to continue my academic and swimming career at the University of South Carolina! A big thank you to everyone who has supported me throughout the process. Go Gamecocks!”

A versatile swimmer, Collins swims year-round with Maverick Swim Club and most recently won the 100 fly at Illinois Seniors after placing 22nd in that event at Juniors West in December. Last summer, she recorded a best time at Illinois LCM Seniors before going on to final in two events at Minneapolis Sectionals.

Her best times include:

  • 50 free – 24.14
  • 100 free – 52.63
  • 100 breast – 1:05.12
  • 100 fly – 54.38
  • 200 IM – 2:04.55
  • 400 IM – 4:29.59

A rising senior at Naperville Central High School, Collins is a three-time Illinois State Championship finalist. She was the 100 fly runner-up and placed fourth in the 200 IM as a junior while taking eighth in the former event during her sophomore season.
